AI Has a Gender Gap in Denmark - And We Need to Fix It Now

Women are still significantly underrepresented in AI.

Only 21.3% of AI professionals are women, and in Denmark, just 15% of AI leadership positions are held by women. That is not only a diversity problem. It is a business problem. And it is a societal problem.

Because when we fail to activate the full talent pool, we weaken Denmark’s innovation power, reduce our competitiveness, and limit the quality of the solutions we build with AI.

That is why I am proud to have been selected as a jury member in the Commercial AI category for this year’s 100 Women in AI.

For me, this is about much more than technology. It is about creating greater curiosity, stronger interest, and broader engagement around AI at a time when the field is still young enough for us to shape its direction.

This imbalance needs to change. Now

And one important way to change it is by recognizing the women who are already leading the way. The ones building, creating, challenging, and setting direction for AI in Denmark.

Because this is not just about representation.

It is about the future of Danish business, Danish innovation, and the society we are building with AI.
